Welcome! We are glad that you have arrived at our website to learn about the work of Aid to Vulnerable Schoolchildren (in French, Aide des enfants vulnérables scolarisés, or A.D.E.V.S.).
A.D.E.V.S. was founded in June 2021 in Bowling Green, Kentucky by Kapungu Ruhereshwa.
Many children are vulnerable because of their lack of access to health care and because their parents often do not have the means to pay for necessities or for school.
Our Vision
We want to see the life of the society improved and a better future for vulnerable schoolchildren in the Great Lakes Region of Africa and in the United States of America.
Our Mission
We desire to play a part in supporting the society in all legal means and playing a part in ensuring a better future of vulnerable schoolchildren in the Great Lakes Region of Africa and in the United States of America.
Our Objectives
In Africa
Improve the educational conditions of vulnerable schoolchildren
Strengthen their sense of well-being
Deliver regular assistance in the form of donations such as uniforms, schoolbags, shoes, umbrellas, mattresses, sheets, notebooks, and other goods
Organize training sessions, in particular, teaching English
Support income-generating micro-projects
Open a reading room containing English books

Assist vulnerable schoolchildren in the refugee population in their orientation and adaptation to their new life in the United States
Explain the educational system of Kentucky
Convey a basic understanding of finances
Provide information and advice on drug and alcohol abuse
Promote respect for driving laws
